About me
Hey hey! I’m Dean and I am all about that weather life. From crazy storms, to wild winds, to bizarre natural phenomena, I can’t get enough of it all. Tornadoes are my true love, and they have been for as long as I can remember. They are the most unpredictable natural disasters, and there’s something fascinating about that.
I went a little too overboard with the whole weather thing and got degrees in Meteorology from Texas A&M University and Energy Policy and Climate from Johns Hopkins University. Someone probably should have stopped me because this obsession is getting out of hand.
I’ve had the pleasure (and fear) of working at some famous groups including NASA, BBC, National Geographic and NOAA. Those were amazing experiences but more importantly they gave me an in-depth understanding of these dramatic events.
The world is insane sometimes! That’s why I want to share my knowledge with you guys. By understanding how tornadoes work or what causes tsunamis we can be better prepared for them when they strike next time. And trust me, there will always be a next time.
So with this website I hope to break down these scary things into easy explanations so anyone can understand them. Hopefully by doing this we’ll spread awareness about our planet’s power and motivate people to live more harmoniously within it’s limits.
That sounds pretty cheesy actually but you know what I mean… The stronger our communities become, the safer we’ll be no matter what mother nature throws at us next time! So please join me on this journey to learning about all things extreme climate events – your help could make a huge difference for future generations!
